Using Internet Explorer to FTP Files to myabasketball.org

To login to the myabasketball web site via FTP, type ftp://www.myabasketball.org in your browser “address line”. I recommend using Microsoft Internet Explorer. I haven’t fully checked out Mozilla’s capability to FTP.

The first time you do this, you will be asked to supply a user name and password. You can check the Save Password box, as long as you trust the other people with access to your computer.

The username is "instboys", "instgirls", “pwboys”, "pwgirls" .... The password is included in an email that I’ve sent (or will send) to you.

When you successfully log in, you will see the files and folders on in your league subdirectory on the site. You can drag files and folders to and from the folders just as if they were files and folders on your hard drive. Please note you only have access to the your subdirectory, and can't' easily foul up somebody else’s site by accidentally dragging your file into their folder.

When I use Internet Explorer for FTP, I double click on the “Folders” icon. This opens up a pane on the left side of the window in which I can locate the folder on my hard drive that corresponds to the folder on the web site. I can then drag files to and from the web site and be sure they’re going to the right place.
